Anymore vs Any more

A lot of English speakers don’t know the difference between anymore and any more. If you read this lesson, you won’t be one of them any more.

Any more
Any more has two meanings.
1. Any longer, still
I don’t want to work here any more.
Do you play golf any more?
If you sleep any more, you’ll miss your bus.
2. Some more
Do you want any more bread?
Is there any more coffee?

Anymore
In American English,* anymore has two meanings:
1. Any longer (interchangeable with any more)
I don’t want to work here anymore.
Do you play golf anymore?
If you sleep anymore, you’ll miss your bus.
2. Nowadays
Kids have no manners anymore.
Anymore, television is just a waste of time.
*Note that in the rest of the English-speaking world, anymore is rare and many consider it incorrect.
